Male’, Maldives – 50 Maldivian students stranded in the country have been flown back to Malaysia to resume their studies, on Friday.
The students who were stuck in Maldives, unable to travel to Malaysia due to various travel restrictions put in place due to Covid-19 were finally able to fly to Malaysia in a special flight chartered by Ace Travels.
Managing Director of Ace Travels, Mohamed Firaq stated that there were difficulties in getting the necessary approvals for the flight. However, he pointed out that the flight could not have been possible with out the Maldivian Embassy in Malaysia, the Foreign Ministry of Maldives, and Maldivian.
The flight is also due to carry Maldivian in Malaysia who wish to return back to Maldives. It is expected to land in Maldives some time on Friday night.
