Maldivian reschedules Kuala Lumpur flight

Malé, Maldives — The country’s airline Maldivian has rescheduled their special flight that was supposed to evacuate students from Malaysia.

According to Maldivian, they had recieved multiple requests from the students in Malaysia to reschedule the flight to Kuala Lumpur on September 10.

After considering the requests of these students, the special flight arranged has been rescheduled for September 20. A ticket from Kaula Lumpur to Maldives is priced at USD 385.

The set procedures states that the passengers who are need of undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine period, are required to bear the quarantine expenses themselves.

While Malaysia is a home to a sizable community to Maldivian students, several have returned back to their island nation after Malaysia began closing off schools and universities due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
