Male’, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced that a special compliance inspection will be held in the Male’ region in an approach to ensure compliance to safety regulations more strictly.
The inspection, which is scheduled to take place on the 25th of August will monitor compliance of service providers, which if found in violation would result in the facility being shut down for a period of 48 hours, if the violation is noted for the first time. The facility would only be allowed to open after the 48 hour duration, HPA said.
Second time violators would be fined with MVR 1,000 and the establishment would be shut down for a period of three days. If the violation is repeated for a third time, an additional MVR 1,000 fine would be imposed along with the place being shut down for 5 days.
This is the second time HPA is conducting such an inspection, with the first being held during July, which saw many establishments reform service provision to be in line with the safety regulations of HPA.
