Shops allowed to open at 6 am

Male’, Maldives – The Economic Ministry of Maldives has announced that shops will now be allowed to open at 06:00 in the morning and serve customers until 21:30, in the Male’ region.

The announcement by the Economic Ministry read that with in the duration of the public health emergency declared in the country, the timings of outlet opening and closing have been amended, due to which, all shops in the Male’ region will be allowed to be open at 06:00 and remain so until 21:30.

The notice also read that all such outlets must comply with the standards set by Health Protection Agency (HPA), specially in particular to Covid-19.

According the Ministry, shops will not be required to obtain a special permit to start business during these new hours.
