MET office warns of bad weather for next 24 hours

Male’, Maldives – Maldives Meteorological Services (MET) has issued a warning, forecasting harsh weather with heavy rains, thundering and strong winds.

Winds are expected to be between 7 and 17 miles per hour, from South West and West, in the southern atolls, while the rest of the country may experience winds between 13 to 23 miles per hour from North West and West direction, with winds going up as high as 45 miles per hour during peak.

Along with this, seas are expected to be rough through out the country, due to which it is advised to take caution while traveling at sea during this time.

MET also warned that some atolls may experience wave surges during high tides.
