Malé, Maldives — Yellow alert has been issued for islands from Th. Atoll to Addu City.
The Maldives Meteorological Service issued the yellow alert from Th. Atoll to Addu City from 1145 hours to 1600 hours.
According to the MET office, there will be torrential rain fall and thunderstorm in these areas. They have also informed that gusty winds of 50 mph is expected throughout these regions.
Different scattered atolls of the Maldives has been facing heavy rainfalls recently. At this time, the sea seems to be generally rough during the showers.
The Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has warned the people about the rough seas, and has asked everyone to be careful while travelling as the sea is rough and the winds are gusty.
