Male’, Maldives – A man has been arrested for traveling against the regulations put in place and published by Health Protection Agency (HPA).
Maldives Police Service revealed that a 29 year old local male was arrested for traveling to B. Dhonfanu from Gdh. Madaveli – an island which is currently under monitoring status. Police further revealed that the arrest was made after acquiring an arrest warrant, on Wednesday.
While police are further investigating the matter, it is yet to be known whether the man will be held in remand or whether he will be placed in quarantine for safety precautions.
Gdh. Madaveli was placed under monitoring after a local transmission was identified in the adjoining island of G. Dh. Hoadedhdhoo.
