Bangladesh donated PPE to Maldives

Male’, Maldives – The Bangladeshi Embassy of Maldives based in Male’, has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Maldives to aid in the battle against the Covid-19 pandemic.

The PPE, which were donated to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH), were handed over in a ceremony held at the hospital today. On behalf of IGMH, the PPE were received by CEO, Ibrahim Saleem, while they were handed over by the Ambassador himself, Admiral Nazmul Hassan.

Along with the PPE, IGMH has recently received a MVR 940,000 Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) testing machine by Alifulhu Thuthhu Foundation.

Currently Covid-19 PCR tests are being carried out at IGMH, Police lab and ADK. With new daily cases above the hundreds, the demand for more testing facilities is on the rise.
