Covid-19: All patients in Addu City recovered

Addu City, Maldives – Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has announced that all Covid-19 patients in Addu City have made a full recovery from the infection, as of Monday.

The last two cases of Covid-19 in Addu City were of two MNDF officers based in Gan, who, as of 18:00 of Monday made a full recovery, declaring the city a Covid-19 free zone. Including these two officers, all cases of Covid-19 in the city were of individuals in home quarantine, except for one, who was quarantined at Equator Quarantine Facility.

In recent times, the number of new Covid-19 cases in the atolls have been increasing, with 99 active cases of the virus in 25 islands currently. Many of the cases are from home quarantine, due to which authorities have been forced to make the home quarantine regulations more strict.

Currently, the highest number of cases have been recorded in Gdh. Hoadedhhoo, among the atolls out of Male’, with 38 cases.
