Malé, Maldives — Since international boarders reopened on July 15, the Velana International Airport (VIA) has seen a recorded amount of tourist arrivals on Friday.
There has been a total of 708 tourist arrivals recorded on Friday. Most of these tourists were from Russia, stated Ibrahim Hussain, Terminal Operations General Manager of VIA.
While there were 335 tourists arrivals from Russia’s Aeroflot flight, 13 were from Etihad Airways, 153 from Emirates and 121 from Qatar Airways on Friday.
According to the statistics revealed from VIA, further five tourists arrived from Turkish Airlines, 16 from SriLankan Airlines and 65 from the national airline of Maldives, Maldivian.
Hussain furthermore revealed that there were eight flight arrivals to Maldives on Friday as well concluding the total number of 597 individuals who departed from Maldives on Friday.
