Malé, Maldives — Health Protection Agency (HPA)’s monitering status has been lifted from Ga. Madaveli after 18 days.
After a large number of individuals were tested positive for the virus in the neighboring island, Hoadedhdhoo, -which is linked to Madaveli via a causeway- HPA decided to place Madaveli under monitering.
While there were 44 people confirmed for the virus in Hoadedhdhoo, 51 people were tested for the virus in Madaveli in case of a community spread. However, all 51 tests came back negative.
Therefore, The Health Emergency Operation Centre (HEOC) confirmed that there will be no restriction in entering and exiting the island as the monitoring status has been removed from the island.
