Male’, Maldives- Ministry of Higher education and Bank of Maldives (BML) have announced that a seminar to inform the students studying abroad about the changes brought to the card limit, would be held on Wednesday.
The Ministry stated that during this meeting held via Zoom, students studying abroad will be given pointers to keep in mind when doing bank transactions, as well as information about online banking. The meeting will be held from 14:00 to 15:00 and will be open publicly.
This comes following the recent changes to the withdrawal limited set by BML, which saw the reduction of the limit from USD 750 to 250 per month. Even though these changes have been made, BML revealed that those abroad for medical treatment and higher education would be exempted.
The session is expected to provide details of the changes and the exemptions made for students.
