Male’, Maldives – The Maldives Meteorological Center (MET) has issued a white alert warning for most parts of the country.
The alert was issued forecasting harsh weather for atolls between Haa Alif and Dhaalu atoll until 16:30. During this time, heavy rain fall with thunder, strong winds and rough seas may be expected. Winds speed is estimated to go as high as 45 miles per hour with it being between 19 to 24 miles per hour on average.
Seas are also generally expected to be rough in mid and north Maldives with calmer waters down south. Hence, all vessels traveling at sea are advised to take all safety precautions and be cautious while traveling.
