Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has announced that a surveillance testing for Covid-19 has been scheduled in Addu City.
In a Tweet sent out by the hospital’s official media account, it was revealed that the sample collection for the surveillance testing has been scheduled for 26th and 27th of September in various parts of the city. It further read that this surveillance testing is part of a national effort, in which random samples would be collected from all parts of the country.

Currently, there are only two active cases of Covid-19, both who were in travel related quarantines at the time of testing positive. There has been no record of local or community transmission of the virus in Addu City thus far.
