GA. Maamendhoo, Maldives – Five individuals in home quarantine at GA. Maamendhoo have tested positive for Covid-19.
The five, who are reportedly all from the same family tested positive for the virus after being tested upon completing a 14 day, travel related quarantine.
As per current regulations, anyone traveling from a country or island with a known active community or local spread of the Covid-19 virus, must complete a 14 day mandatory quarantine prior to going out in public.
According to the latest statistics released by the Health Protection Agency (HPA), there are 40 cases of Covid-19 across 21 different islands of the country.
The highest number of cases outside of Male’ is in Gdh. Hoadedhhoo, with a total of 45 cases. 32 out of the 45 patients have since recovered. However, the island is still under monitoring status.
