Random sampling concluded in Addu City

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has concluded conducting a two day random sampling effort in Addu City.

The hospital revealed that a total of 273 samples were collected from all the districts of Addu City, on the 26th and 27th of September. It was also divulged that among those who got their samples taken on the 26th, no samples have tested positive for the coronavirus. However, the samples of the 27th are still pending results.

All results are to be dispatched to the respective mobile phones of the individuals as the results come in.

According to the statistics released by Health Protection Agency (HPA), there are currently two active cases of Covid-19 in Addu City, which are in Hulhudhoo and Gan. Both patients tested positive upon completion of a travel related quarantine period of 14 days.

Til date, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the Maldives has topped 10,000, with more than 8,000 having have recovered.
