Addu City, Maldives – Addu Equatorial Hospital (AEH) has confirmed that all 272 samples collected during random surveillance in Addu City have tested negative.
AEH revealed that the samples which were collected from all districts of the city on the 26th and 27th of September have tested negative, suggesting that there may not be a local or community spread within the city.
However, AEH revealed that from now on, random samples would be collected from different parts of the city from time to time as a proactive measure.
Currently, there are several cases of Covid-19 in Addu City, after it has been reported that multiple expatriates who came to Addu from Cochin to work at the Addu Police Academy have tested positive for the virus. However, the exact number has not yet been reported.
