President Solih sends felicitations to new Emir of Kuwait

Malé, Maldives — President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent his condolences to the new Emiret of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

Following the passing of late Emiret of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Sabah, President Solih expressed his certainty that Kuwait will continue to prosper and strengthen the legacy of the late Emir.

After hearing the news of late Emiret, President Solih had sent his condolences to the Al-Sabah family and the government along with the citizens of Kuwait as well. The President stated that Al-Sabah was a true leader and visionary and that his legacy will be carried out for years.

On his message to the new Kuwait leader, the President also mentioned that he hopes that the excellent relations between the two countries will strengthen under the new Emir’s leadership.

Crowned as the prince of Kuwait on February 2006, Sheikh Nawaf took an oath before the National Assembly on Wednesday to become the 16th Emir of Kuwait.

According to national media, the newly sworn Emir of Kuwait had vowed to carry out his responsibilities to his best capacity and reiterated commitment to the constitution and democracy of Kuwait.
