Male’, Maldives – President of Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that teachers play a vital role in peoples success and achievements in life in a tweet he posted today.
In celebration of World Teachers Day being celebrated today, President Solih stated that teachers were the ones who have the lasting positive impacts on who we are today and that we owe a deep gratitude to them for success in life.
Besides our parents, teachers are the ones who’ve had lasting positive impact on who we are today. Our success in life owes them deep gratitude. On #WorldTeachersDay I thank all my teachers as well as every single teacher who continue to light the way for our young generations.

In addition to this he thanked his teachers and all other teachers who continue to illuminate the way for the younger generations.
World Teachers Day is celebrated on October 5 of each year and this years theme selected by UNESCO is “Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future”.
According to the joint statement from UNESCO, International Labour Organization, UNICEF and Education International on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day 2020 this year’s World Teachers’ Day has an even greater significance in light of the challenges that teachers have faced during the COVID-19 crisis. As the pandemic has shown, they make a crucial contribution to ensuring continuity of learning and supporting the mental health and wellbeing of their students.
