IGS to launch a programme on how to locate asteroids

Male’, Maldives – Institute for Global Success (IGS) is starting a programme specialized for students on how to locate asteroids.

IGS is an institute that works towards developing the new generation of Maldivian students in different areas. IGS said that this programme teaching how to locate asteroids will be carried out for students between grade 8 and grade 12. This programme is free of charge and open to students from all over Maldives.

During this programme, students will be taught how to locate asteroids with the help of information from telescopes located in different areas of the world. IGS has also opened the chance for volunteers to register as trainers for this programme.The institute said that the volunteer trainers will also be trained on how to locate asteroids and that they will have to spend maximum four hours a month to train the students. 

“We will train volunteers as well. We will also give them a chance to locate asteroids as an experience”, said CEO and founder of IGS, Mohamed Rif-ath.

Rif-ath said that all the participants as well as the volunteers will receive a certificate from NASA on completion of the course. Those who want to volunteer for this programme must email IGS before 0000 hrs of October 12th. Mail address of IGS is igsmaldives@gmail.com
