Hoarafushi Airport project to be finished by November 11th

Hoarafushi, Maldives – Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) said that the ongoing airport project of Haa Alif Hoarafushi, located up north of Maldives is expected to finish by November 11th.

CEO of MTCC, Adam Azim visited the site and inspected the ongoing work, after which it was said that the work at the airport is ongoing at a fast pace inorder to finish the project for November 11th.

Hoarafushi Airport development project includes a 1.2 kilometer runway, a 8,635 square meter long apron and a taxi way. In addition to this, service roads, 9473 square meters parking area and a 1718 square meters of fire access roads are also included in the project. A fence has also been built along 720 meters to separate this area from the airport.

As a part of the Hoarafushi Airport development project, an area of 842,200 cubic meters of land was reclaimed in August 2019 and revetment has been built along 1120 meters by MTCC. The company is currently working on the passenger terminal and fire building of the airport.
