This is the first time Jumhooree Party (JP) has lost a slot in the cabinet, since the JP seat held by Ameen has now been replaced by MDP backed Naseem. Another member of Jumhooree Party, Ali Waheed was also dismissed from the cabinet recently but was replaced by Dr. Abdullah Mausoom who is also a member of JP. With the new changes brought to the cabinet, there are now a total of four Minister who are members of Jumhooree Party.
Maldives Reform Movement has also recently lost a slot in the cabinet as former Minister Athifa Shakoor resigned citing health issues, which resulted in the Ministry being dissolved and mandate bering transferred to the Ministry of Planning.
