Minister Shahid offers condolences to Turkish Foreign Minister after deadly earthquake

Male’, Maldives — Foreign Minister of Maldives, Abdullah Shahid offers condolences after a deadly earthquake in the Aegean Sea hits Turkey and Greece.

On his condolence message to the Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, he extended his deepest condolences caused by the massive destruction and the deaths caused by the deadly earthquake. During this difficult time, Minister Shahid forwarded his thoughts and prayers to the residents of Turkey.

In response to the message send by Minister Shahid, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Çavuşoğlu thanked Minister Shahid for his condolences and prayers.

Minister Shahid also sent condolences to Greece for the deaths and destructing Greece had to face due to the same earthquake that hit Turkey. In his message, Minister Shahid sent heartfelt condolences to the Foreign Minister of Greece, Nikos Dendias and to the people of Greece who had to face such a difficult time.

On October 31st, a 7.0 magnitude earthquake followed by a mini tsunami hit Western Turkey and the neighboring country, Greece. This has killed at least fourteen people, injured up to 600 people and has collapsed over 20 buildings in the area.
