Naifaru, Maldives – The island of Naifaru, located in Lhaviyani atoll of Maldives gotten flooded after heavy rain and harsh weather.
According to Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF), several areas of Naifaru have flooded during the harsh weather being experienced by the northern atolls, and that officers of MNDF are currently active in the island helping locals to pump water and keep homes dry.
MNDF reportedly received information about the flooding around 13:55 on Saturday afternoon.
Maldives Meteorological Services (MET office), forecasts that islands between Haa Alif and Lhaviyani atoll are likely to experience bad weather, and due to which a white alert has been issued.
