Hinnavaru placed under monitoring

Lh. Hinnavaru, Maldives – Lh. Hinnavaru Has been placed under monitoring by Health Protection Agency (HPA) after a Covid-19 case was confirmed.

HPA had told that a symptomatic person who was tested was found to be positive and the island was put under monitoring status to carry out contact tracing within the island. HPA also stated that while Lh. Naifaru and Lh. Felivaru had confirmed cases, the case from Hinnavaru was not related to either clusters.

The clusters identified in Lhaviyani Atoll comes after Lh. Naifaru was placed under monitoring on 23 March 2021 after one employee of the hospital who travelled to R. Ungoofaaru tested positive for Covid-19. Lhaviyani Atoll hospital located in Lh. Naifaru was shut down for contact tracing due to as well.

In addition to this, 66 people have been confirmed to be positive for Covid-19 from Felivaru island. According to the statistics released by the hospital, 66 samples had come back positive out of the 104 samples taken from the island. While 88 sample results had been confirmed, 22 people had tested negative for Covid-19 yesterday.
