Male’, Maldives – The President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has congratulated the newly elected President of the United States of America, Joe Biden for winning the 2020 Presidential elections of the USA.
In a tweet sent out by President Solih, the President said that he looks forward to working with Biden’s administration on issues of mutual concerns.
Biden’s win was projected to have exceeded the 270 mark of electoral votes required to secure the a win in the election, after the Associated Press called the state of Pennsylvania in his favour on Saturday night.
However, it appears that incumbent President Donald Trump has refused to accept his loss, declaring that he won, despite multiple international sources declaring Biden’s win.
Trump continues to legally challenge the results in some states and has already filed some lawsuits as well. With this, it is yet to know how the transition will turn out to be.
