As part of the information released by the Ministry to mark two years into the administration of incumbent President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, it was revealed that a total of 50,282 consultations have been made at the tertiary level hospital since being officially open 2nd April 2020, on which all services of former Hithadhoo Regional Hospital (HRH) were transferred to AEH.

Among the patients seeking medical assistance at AEH are those of Addu and those who travel from neighboring atolls, such as Fuvahmulah and Huvadhoo atoll, as ferry and speedboat services become more readily available for travelers.
