Male’, Maldives – Former Vice President of Maldives Dr. Mohamed Jameel has said that the current leader of the Maldives is in the Parliament and that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, is “just passing time”, implying that the real leader is Speaker Mohamed Nasheed

In a tweet sent out by Dr. Jameel, he said that the allegations against President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih which claim that he has unduly taken state funds are serious, and that the only reason he is making shady agreements with former Vice President Adeeb is because the President is compromised.

He also added that President Solih is pointing fingers at former President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom to cover up the fact that President Solih has failed and that this is something which is evident everywhere.

The entire country is now poor. His own party is on fire. The real leader is in the Parliament, he is just passing time.

Jameel’s criticism towards the president comes following his remarks against the former administration of Yameen Abdul Qayyoom, while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Hoarafushi Airport.

President Solih said that former President Yameen sold 85 islands at below market value and that these resorts have not even been developed, let alone brought in the income the state should receive from it, saying that Yameen took it with him when he stepped down from Presidency.

Since them the opposition coalition has released a statement claiming that the will be pressing charges against President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, and have clearly denied any wrongdoing by Yameen.
