Male’, Maldives – Health Emergency Operation Center has confirmed that the mother of Health Protection Agency (HPA)’s Director General Maimoona Aboobakr has passed away.
Maimoona’s mother, Jameela Hussain, who is also the mother of former Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shafeeu and current Chief Technical Officer, Hamid Shafeeu, passed away at 10:22 on Saturday, at the age of 82.
It is with great sadness that we confirm the passing away of beloved mother of the Director General of Public Health, Ms. Maimoona Aboobakuru, at around 10:22 am today. It is not a Covid-19 death. May Allah grant her eternal Jannah, and give the family strength to weather this loss. We request that the family be granted privacy to grieve at this difficult time.
