MoU signed to enhance Sports Infrastructure in Maldives

Malé, Maldives — A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Maldives Sports Corporation (SportsCo) to enhance the Sports Infrastructure in Maldives.

On December 10, the Managing Director of SportsCo, Mauroof Ahmed and the Managing Director of HDC Suhail Ahmed signed a three year long MoU that will be helping the two corporations create more opportunities and programs for different sport activities in Maldives.

The MoU was signed to develop and utilize the land of HDC for sports-related infrastructure and for HDC and SprortsCo to work together and to share researches with each other to further enhance the sports infrastructure of Maldives.

According to HDC, the agreement was signed so that the two corporations can work together in developing the sports sector of Maldives.

HDC further detailed the aforementioned statement saying that the MoU involves “research and assessment of demand for different disciplines of sports and concurrently developing strategies to cater for the existing and upcoming sports facilities.”

Apart from this, SportsCo said that the MoU will help the country have even greater progress in it’s sports sector than it has ever before.

SportsCo also informed that the MoU will help in resolving the lack of space issues that sports facilities have and will ensure that the facilities in Maldives will have more modern sports equipment in them. Along with this, SportsCo said that the MoU will also help provide training and technical programs for the athletes in Maldives.
