Male’, Maldives – Minister of Defence Mariya Ahmed Didi has revealed that 3 in 5 personnel enlisted in the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) received training and were given lessons in various sectors.
In a piece she wrote for the weekly issue MNDF’s publication “Addana”, she stated that during the previous year, MNDF’s services were carried out extensively, and that she’s delighted that the force has gained more trust and adoration from the public.
Explaining that to bring large changes to modernize MNDF’s fundamentals, and to make sure the armed forces continue to be educated on modern approaches, serialized training programs and courses were carried out last year.
Minister Mariya added that President Ibrahim Solih’s government holds the growth of military expertise in a high regard, and that these training programs were carried out as part of President Solih’s vow to increase military prowess.
She further said that currently, the military is seen as a very professional force that is far from any political influence, and that she wishes for the force to fortify their ranks and serve the country as stated in their vows, with continued support from the public.
