Male’, Maldives — The latest statistics revealed by the Tourism Ministry of Maldives revealed that currently there are 26 airlines from different countries operating to the Maldives.
On Thursday, the Tourism Ministry revealed that till January 6th, the country has active 26 different airlines operating to the country. They are:

- Edelweiss Air
- Lufthansa
- Azur Air Russia
- Turkish Airlines
- Qatar Airways
- Fly Dubai
- Emirates Etihad Airways
- GoAir
- IndiGo
- Air India
- Sri Lankan Airlines
- Aeroflot
- SpiceJet
- Azur Air Ukraine
- Air Astana
- Air Astana
- Air Seychelles
- Air France
- Silk Air
- Gulf Air
- Austrian Airlines
- Condor
- Air Vistara
- Uzbekistan Airways
- Ukraine International Airlines
Despite having 26 airlines that operate to the island nation, the total arrival growth of Maldives from January 1st till January 6th in 2021 is extremely low compared to the number of arrivals recorded in the same duration on 2020.
The Ministry informed that during the first six days of 2020, the country recorded 31,702 tourist arrivals as back then, there was no threat of Covid-19 in Maldives. However, during the same duration, Maldives has welcomed only 18,086 tourists in 2020. This is a decrease of 42.9% compared to the previous year.
Russia and India is still the top two markets of the Maldives with having 5,331 tourists arrivals from Russia within the first six days of 2021. India follows after Russia with 1,816 tourists arriving to Maldives so far in the year 2021 and Ukraine, Kazakhstan and United Kingdom respectively coming after Russia and India.
