MVR 136 million budget approved for Addu City Council

Addu City, Maldives — The City Council of Addu City informs that the Parliament has passed MVR 136 million as the budget of Addu City Council for the year 2021.

The budget was passed by the Parliament on January 07, 2021 after which the mayor of Addu City Council, Abdullah Sodiq approved the given budget MVR 136,554,544 on January 14th.

The recommendations under this budget includes,

  • Providing a way to give the employees extra money for working overtime instead of giving money under the “Special Duty Allowance” of L.G.A Monitoring Report.
  • To give 5% of the grant the council receives every month from the state as a budget for the Women’s Development Committee.

If the budget is to be used for an activity that is not included in the budget statement, then the party must inform the council of the activity and get approval from the council before carrying out the activity.
