JUST IN: Maldives confirms 50th Covid-19 death

Male’, Maldives – Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has confirmed an additional Covid-19 death.

The statement by HEOC and HPA read that the deceased was a 77 year old local male admitted to IGMH/ER in an unresponsive stated and later declared dead at 10:14 am. This marks the 50th Covid-19 related death in the country.

Today at 09:50am, a 77-year-old Maldivian male taken to IGMH/ER in unresponsive state, was declared dead at 10:14am.

As per the latest Covid-19 statistics of the country, there are a total of 1,017 active cases, with 79 admitted at hospitals. 14,712 individuals have tested positive for the virus in the country with 13,639 individuals having made full recoveries. 50 people have passed away due to the disease.
