Covid-19: Maldives confirms 39th death

Male’, Maldives – Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has announced the 39th Covid-19 related death in the country on Friday.

According to HEOC, an 88 year old local male admitted at the Hulhumale’ Medical Facility passed away at 15:50 while being treated for Covid-19, marking the 39th Covid-19 related death in the country.

Currently there are a total of 838 Covid-19 patients in the Maldives, out of which 185 are in isolation facilities, while an additional 56 are admitted to hospitals. Since the first case of Covid-19 was recorded in Maldives, 11,893 cases of the novel coronavirus have been confirmed.

The recovery rate of Covid-19 related cases in the Maldives is above 90 percent, with 11,010 out of the total Covid-19 patients having have made a full recovery.
