Nautilus One safari sinks after catching on fire

Male’, Maldives — A Nautilus One safari of Maldives has caught on fire on its way from Hulhumale’ to HDH. Hanimaadhoo.

The Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) informed that they received a report at 03:39 in the morning of a Nautilus One safari that had caught on fire.

MNDF informed that there were six individuals on board when the safari caught on fire while it was on its way from Hulhumale’ to HDH. Hanimaadhoo.

The six individuals on board the safari managed to escape to another vessel. There is no information released about the cause of the fire.

The Nautilus One was a 30m long safari boat that is made entirely of wood and is manufactured in Maldivian time-tested design. The safari consisted of  seven luxurious guest cabins along with air conditioning and a private bathroom with a shower and toilet in each cabinet.
