Addu City, Maldives – Two males aged 29 and 21 have tested positive for COVID-19 in a Hulhudhoo MTCC site.
Officials have revealed that both males are asymptomatic, and were tested positive on their quarantine release test, with contact tracing efforts now underway.
This brings the number of total active cases in the city to 04.
Addu city has confirmed a total of 77 Covid-19 cases including today’s case.
The high numbers in the city were contributed to, by the Indian expatriates who arrived from Cochin to Addu City to work at the area being developed as a Police training academy, who tested positive while in quarantine.
While 83 expatriates arrived from India and were quarantined in Dhoogas in Gan, 56 had confirmed positive for the virus.
Earlier today, neighboring city Fvahumulah confirmed that two patients in the high risk category have been admitted at the Covid-19 facilities at the Fuvahmulah Hospital.
