BREAKING: Random sampling to start in Addu City tomorrow

Addu City, Maldives – Addu Emergency Operation Centre (EOC) has confirmed that random sampling would start in Addu City staring from tomorrow, 14 February 2021.

Speaking at the Addu Emergency Operation Centre Press conference going on now, Dr Adhsar informed that random sampling would be done within all the joined islands to verify the extent of the spread in Addu City.

According to the statistics revealed by the Addu Emergency Operation Center (AEOC), a total of 5 new cases have been recorded from the city, including the case of an elderly woman, which was reported this morning.

With this, the total active cases in the city has gone up to 58, with cases attributed to two different clusters. The aviation cluster currently has 33 active cases, while the Hulhumeedhoo MTCC cluster has 25 active cases. 

While four individuals are receiving hospitalized care at the Addu Covid-19 management facility in Hithadhoo, a total of 182 buildings are under monitoring, as 341 individuals have been identified as direct contacts.
