Fehendhoo, Maldives – The Vice President of Fehendhoo island council of Baa Atoll has been arrested for molesting a child.
The alleged pedophile, Ibrahim Fazeel was arrested around 14:30 on Wednesday according to local reports, and has been held in remand for a period of 15 days while the matter is being further investigated.
So far, it has come to light that Fazeel took the child to an isolated area in the island where he abused the child, which eventually came to the knowledge of the child’s parents, ultimately now being investigated by Maldives Police Service and the Ministry of Gender Family and Social Services.
Maldives Police Service commented on the matter, stating that a 34 year old male had been arrested on Wednesday at around 14:30 with regards to the case.
