Malé, Maldives – The Elections Commission (EC) of Maldives has made necessary arrangements for services of the commission to be provided in person, starting Sunday.

In a statement released by the EC on Saturday, the commissions services would be available for any walk in service seekers from 08:00 to 16:00 of any working day, at the Elections Center in the old Jamaladdin building.

However, it was highlighted that despite the revival of in person services, the option to email or submit documents via E-Government (GEMS) would still be available.

While the upcoming Local Council Election (LCE) scheduled for the 10th of April is nearing, documents related to the elections had to be submitted electronically prior to this, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. However, with the reregistration period for the LCE being open from 2 March 2021 to 11 March 2021, in person services will also be allowed.

As of 3 March, 2021, a total of 110 individuals have submitted reregistration forms, of which 101 forms were submitted on the 3rd.
