More than 1,100 applications submitted for MoHE student loans

Malé, Maldives – It has been reported that more than 1,100 applications have been received by the Ministry of Higher Education, for the opportunity to receive the government student loan announced for the year 2021.

In a tweet sent out by the Higher Education Minister Dr. Ibrahim Hassan, it was detailed that a total of 1,176 applications have been received by the Ministry, and that the Ministry will ensure that all forms are evaluated responsibly and with integrity, as in the regulations and guidelines set forth in the Gazette.

On February 11, the Ministry of Higher Education of Maldives (MOHE) opened opportunities to give loans for the students who wish to get higher education abroad and in the Maldives.

The Ministry announced a total 770 spots, of which 299 spots are for the students who are beginning their higher education and the remaining 471 spots are for the students who are currently continuing their education.

The application deadline for this year’s student loan expired on 4 March, 2021.
