Kelaa MP Shareef calls to fine HPA

Male’, Maldives — The Member of Constituency of Kelaa, Ibrahim Shareef has called to fine the Health Protection Agency (HPA) for irresponsible management decisions during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The statement from MP Shareef comes after HPA fined the ruling party MDP and the opposition parties for violating the guidelines of HPA. While HPA fined MVR 5,000 from MDP, they fined MVR 25,000 each from the opposition parties, PPM & PNC.

MP Shareef called on to fine HPA during discussion of the MP of Maavashu Constituency and opposition PNC member, Mohamed Saeed presented a emergency motion to the parliament saying that a solution needs to be found for the small and medium businesses who are suffering from the guidelines of HPA.

To this, MP Shareef stated that HPA has no proper management in administering the Covid-19 vaccine and that the people who are in queue tdo not maintain any social distancing at all.

MP Shareef stated that the reason for people to stay without social distancing in queues like that is because HPA has no proper management and that they are irresponsible and called on to fine HPA for it.
