Gdh. Thinadhoo, Maldives – Health Emergency Operation Center (HEOC) has confirmed that Gdh. Thinadhoo has now been placed under monitoring, following the discovery of 5 new cases of Covid-19 in the island.
It was detailed that all five patients are symptomatic and were tested due to flu like symptoms, which subsequently resulted in the positive result. However, no further results have been divulged regarding how the virus spread to the island yet.
With this, the island is now under monitoring, effectively barring any unauthorized travel to or from the island. During this time, authorities are expected to carry out contact tracing efforts in order to assess the situation and control the spread.
