Gdh. Thinadhoo, Maldives – The second program of the ‘Girls to Code Thinadhoo’ series’ conducted by Dhiraagu Maldives and Women in Tech Maldives, which teaches girls to code and enhances awareness in technological field amongst them, has concluded.
The program started on January 12 this year, and ended on the 15th of this month. While the age category was girls aged 14 to 20 years, a total of 17 girls participated in the program.
A virtual ceremony participated by the management of Dhiraagu, Women in Tech, as well as the participants and their parents, was held to hand out the certificates to those who completed the course. The top three websites made by participants were also displayed in the ceremony.
One of the lecturers of the program, Aminath Firushana said that the result of this program, designed to increase ICT skills in girls, were terrific, and added that this proved that the participants tried their level best in using what they studied in creating their own websites.
The Corperative Services Director of Dhiraagu Aathifa Ali stated that her hope is that participants use their abilities, and the newfound talents, to do great things for the community, in the future.
