Hearing against PNC President Abdul Raheem Abdulla scheduled for Thursday

Male’, Maldives —The Criminal Court has scheduled hearing for charges against the President of the People’s National Congress (PNC) and the temporary leader of Progressive Congress Coalition, Abdul Raheem Abdulla.

Abdul Raheem has been charged for using profanity and bad language at inappropriate places. The Criminal Court has announced that the hearing will proceed at morning 11:00 Thursday.

In response to the charges raised against him, Abdul Raheem has stated that the charges against him is simply an act to weaken the competitors of the government and to instili fear. However, Abdul Raheem stated that no matter how much the government attempts to frighten the opposition, they will continue to be determined to hold the government responsible for their acts.
