Special Police arrangements established for month of Ramadan

Male’, Maldives —The Maldives Police Service has announced that they have established special arrangements for the month of Ramadan.

Police announced that they will be sending more of their officers to monitor areas in the greather Male’ that are expected to get overcrowded during the month of Ramadan,

Police Inspector, Mohamed Luthfee informed local media outlet ‘Avas’ that they have marked the areas that are expected to get overly crowded during Ramadan for Police to be active throughout the month.

We have noted that some marked areas usually get overly crowded at evening in Ramadan month. To avoid this, we will be assigning more Police officers to these area.

Police Inspector, Mohamed Luthfee stated.

According to Luthfee, the areas that usually get overly crowded during Ramadan in Male’ area are the markets and near large mosques. For this, Luthfee stated that they have established a plan to ease the areas from getting crowded.

Under this plan, Luthfee stated that they have already banned four wheeled vehicles from entering the north market area in Male’ city. He also mentioned that starting from afternoon 13:00, four wheeled vehicles will be banned from entering the area from the MPL Head Office in Boduthakurufaanu road till MMA till Maghrib prayer.

In addition to Male’, Police has announced that they will be placing additional Police officers in certain areas of Hulhumale’ as well, considering that the traffic will be unusually high at the Sinamale’ bridge area.

Police Inspector, Mohamed Luthfee stated that the Police hopes to receive the cooperation and help from the public in proceeding with this work.
