Travel within atolls will be allowed after second dose: President Solih

Malé, Maldives – President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has revealed that travel within atolls will be allowed for those who had completed two weeks after gotten their second dose of Covid-19 vaccine.

In a tweet posted by the president to commemorate a year since the initial lockdown in Malé City amid the community cases of Covid-19, he stated that everyone was eagerly waiting for things to return to normal.

Presidents tweet comes while he has been quarantined after First Lady Fazna Ahmed had tested positive for Covid-19. Presidents Office had reveled that the First Lady had tested positive a while back. In the announcement made, Presidents Office had told that she remained in good health and that she was in self isolation. 

Presidents Office further revealed that President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, their son and daughter tested negative for Covid-19. Fist Lady being Covid-19 positive comes while her brother in law and Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed also announced that he was positive for the virus and in isolation.
