Addu City, Maldives – A program started to donate the excess food made in households during this Ramazan to be donated to those in need in the island has begin in the southernmost atoll, Addu City as well.
This program was started by a group of youngsters and is being carried out in Malé and Hulhumalé to help the people with poor living conditions by providing food this Ramazan.
The program is being carried out with the help of a committee “Ohdasau Sports and Recreation”. The committee encourages people to donate the excessive food that remains at home in this Ramazan to them instead of throwing it away.
This way we can donate the food to those who cannot afford it and we all will be well fed.
Ohdasau Sports and Recreation committee stated.
The program began last night in Addu City, where the councilors elected for Addu City also participated in distributing the donated food to the people in need in the area.
