BREAKING: Maldives records 75th Covid-19 death

Malé, Maldives – The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has informed that a 77 year old Maldivian woman, admitted at Hulhumalé Covid Facility had passed away last night due to Covid-19.

With the passing away of the 77 year old female the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country has risen to 75. 

Since the country recorded its first case of Covid-19, Maldives has reported 75 deaths in connection to Covid-19. The deceased are 67 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals, a Filipino national and an Indian national.

While Maldives recorded the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases since the pandemic hit the tiny island nation with 734 cases yesterday, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 32,665 out of which 25,473 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 5, 2021. Currently the total number of active cases in the country stands at 7,109.
