HPA confirms 3rd Covid-19 death today!

Malé, Maldives – Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced the third Covid-related death today, taking the total death toll in Maldives to 77.

The third Covid-19 death recorded today is of a 61 year old Indian who tested positive for Covid-19 in AA. Rasdhoo and passed away from the virus in the Maldives.

With this, the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country has risen to 77. The deceased are 69 Maldivian nationals, 6 Bangladeshi nationals, a Filipino national and two Indian nationals.

While Maldives recorded the highest number of daily Covid-19 cases since the pandemic hit the tiny island nation with 734 cases yesterday, the total number of Covid-19 cases recorded in the country has reached 32,665 out of which 25,473 patients have made full recoveries, as of 18:00 of May 5, 2021. Currently the total number of active cases in the country stands at 7,109.
